Dr. Laos truly enjoys dentistry. His team and the patients he gets to work with motivate him each day. He loves being able to restore your smile, eliminate your pain, and help you achieve the look you’ve always wanted. Thanks to a fantastic mixture of experience and attention to detail, Dr. Laos can achieve excellent results for his patients. He believes that when you transform a smile, you are transforming a life.
When he is not busy changing lives at Volterra Dental, Dr. Laos enjoys spending time with his beautiful family. He has known his best friend and wife for the past 42 years, and they have been married for 36 of those years. He has a 30-year-old son and a 28-year-old daughter whom he enjoys spending time with.
I've been in practice a little over 30 years, so probably about 3 or 4 years into practice I really got interested in not only fixing single teeth, but actually rehabilitating somebody's entire mouth. I did a lot of training, at that point it called, "The Seattle Institute." Frank Spears headed that up. Now he still has his teacher facility in, I believe, it's now in Scottsdale. I did about 2 to 3 years of just intensive studying, going to classes, practical and kind of developed all the skills that I would've developed if I'd gone on to school and become a proshodontist, to do full mouth rehab, total smile design. That's what I really enjoy doing. I've been doing that for 25 years now.
Dr. Laos is also very active. He enjoys road biking, especially when he can fit a century ride (100 miles!) into his schedule. Dr. Laos is also taking dancing lessons and enjoys working out. When he has free time, he likes catching a Rams game or cheering for his alma maters: USC and Stanford.
Dr. Laos believes that it is important to give back. He is active with several charities including World Vision and B.R.A.I.N. (Brain Rehabilitation and Injury Network).
